Transportation from Valencia Airport

Valencia

The fastest transport to the airport is provided by metro lines (actually it is more like a rapid transit tram), which are supplemented by slower buses.

Ticket prices are the same for both metro and buses.

Metro 3, 5

For transport to the centre, prefer the metro. The journey is fast, comfortable and there's no risk of getting stuck in traffic jams. The station is located inside the terminal and is clearly signposted.

Routes and stops

There are two metro lines to the airport on a common route from the city centre:

  • Line 3 - from the city centre to the northern suburbs of Valencia
  • Line 5 - from the city centre to the Maritim terminus near the beaches and seafront promenade

Both lines follow a common route from the airport through the southern part of the historic centre to Alameda station, where they split.

At Xátiva station you can change to Valencia Nord train station.

Tickets

To get from the centre to the airport, you need to buy tickets with AB+ zones. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine at each metro station.

  • 4,80 eur - one way
  • 8 eur - A 24-hour "SUMA T1+" ticket for the entire metro and EMT tram and bus network.
  • 10 eur - a "SUMA T2+" ticket for 48 hours for the entire metro, tram and EMT bus network

When purchasing a SUMA ticket you must add a fee 1 eur for the issue of an anonymous paper card, but you can upload a new fare card at the ticket machine when your ticket expires.

Detailed fare information can be found on the website: metrovalencia.es/en/fares.

Timetables

The frequency of both lines is 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on weekends and holidays. The two lines run interchangeably, so the final interval on the shared route from the centre to the airport is 7-8 minutes and 10 minutes on weekends.

The last trains from the airport to the city centre run at 23:57, and as late as 1:35 on Fridays and Saturdays. The last connection to Marítim station is at 22:36.

The first trains from Alameda Station leave at 4:58 a.m. on weekdays, 5:15 a.m. on Saturdays and 6:34 a.m. on Sundays.

The journey times from the airport are as follows:

  • Xátiva - 21 minutes
  • Alameda - 25 minutes
  • Marítim - 33 minutes

Find connections and timetables on the official website: metrovalencia.es/en/timetables-journeys.

Bus 150

The airport is also served by Fernanbus buses, which is a different carrier to the city's main company, EMT Bus. SUMA day and multi-day tickets are not valid on Fernanbus routes.

For travel to the city centre, use the 150 line.

The advantage of buses over the metro is the direct connection to other destinations and also the all-night service.

Route and stops

The bus stop is located 20 metres in front of the terminal.

Line 150 goes directly to the historic centre of "Ciutat Vela", where it terminates near the Central Market on Avenida del Oeste.

Tickets

The ticket price for zones A, B, C, which are needed to get to the centre, is the same as for the metro: 4,80 eur.

The integrated SUMA tickets for metro, trams, trains and EMT buses cannot be used on Fernanbus services, including line 150.

The ticket is purchased from the driver and can only be paid in cash. The driver only accepts banknotes up to a maximum value of € 10.

For current ticket prices, please visit the official website: transviago.com/tarifas-fernanbus.

Timetable

Line 150 runs approximately once every 35-45 minutes for 24 hours. At night, the line is designated as 150N, but runs along the same route.

The journey to the city centre takes between 35 and 45 minutes, depending on the volume of traffic.

Detailed timetables can be found on the website: fernanbusapp.transviago.com.

Local buses

Bus line 106 runs to the surrounding neighbourhoods and the town of Torrent, on the western outskirts of Valencia.

This route is operated by Fernanbus, the same company that runs line 150 to central Valencia.

A ticket to Torrent costs 2,80 eur and the bus runs every 35 minutes.

The timetable and a map of the route can be found on the website: fernanbusapp.transviago.com.

Prices range from 150 eur to 300 eur per week, depending on the size of the car or the rental company you choose.

  • Denia - 1-2 times a day, takes 2.5 hours and costs 17 eur
  • Alicante - 2-3 times per day, takes 3 hours and costs 27 eur
