Grab / Gojek / Taxi
It is very popular in Indonesia to travel by cheap taxis, however, especially when travelling from the airport, the prices are relatively high as only special licensed taxis can travel in this direction.
However, you can take any taxi from the city centre to the airport as well as cheaper Grab / Gojek cars.
It is generally cheaper to use the Grab / Gojek mobile app than regular taxis. We always recommend comparing prices on both apps.
The Grab / Gojek station is outside the arrivals hall, where staff will help you find where the cars stop.
The average prices from the airport to the city centre are as follows:
- 120 000 idr - Grab and Gojek
- 150 000 idr - Taxi
When travelling from Surakarta city centre to the airport:
- 85 000 idr - Grab a Gojek
- 150 000 idr - taxi
Train
The train station is directly connected to the terminal. The KA rail line goes to Solo Balapan Central Station and some services continue on to Solo Purwosari and Klaten.
At Solo Balapan station, you can change to long-distance trains or the Y suburban line in the direction of Yogyakarta.
You won't find the timetables of the KA line on any official websites, but Google Maps shows them exactly when you click on the station:
None of the electronic transport cards valid on regular buses or suburban trains throughout Indonesia are valid for the train.
You must buy a paper ticket at the ticket office, which can be paid for with cash or card.
