There is a very small regional airport on the northernmost tip of the Greek island of Skyros.
Although the airport terminal is only as big as a normal family villa, it serves as the island's main link to the outside world and most tourists arrive on Skyros by plane.
There are currently no international flights to Skyros Airport, even in the summer season. There are only two regular routes to the Greek mainland:
- Athens - buy tickets for aegeanair.com (including connecting flights further afield in Europe)
- Thessaloniki - buy tickets on skyexpress.gr
It takes less than a minute to walk through the terminal and you'll be fine if you arrive 60 minutes early for your departure.
