Getting from Scilly St Mary's Airport

Hugh Town, St. Mary's

St. Mary's Airport is less than 2 km from the centre of Hugh Town.

Airport Shuttle

The official airport shuttle service is provided by the Airport Shuttle, which awaits all Skybus and helicopter arrivals from Penzance.

The service is operated by Island Transfers and official information can be found at islandtransfers.co.uk.

Due to the size of the island, the vans do not have a fixed route and distribute passengers according to their destination. Even to the most remote part of the island, the journey will take no more than 15 minutes.

If you are continuing from the airport to another island, the van will take you straight to the port where you can buy a ticket for the relevant boat from a kiosk.

Ticket prices

A one-way ticket costs 6 gbp and can be paid by card or cash at the van driver. A return ticket is sold at a small discount for 11 gbp.

Is a reservation required?

No booking is required for travel from the airport. There are always several vans waiting outside the terminal and their drivers in the arrivals hall. Simply state your destination and the driver will direct you to the appropriate car.

However, due to the lack of fixed routes and timetables, you must book your airport transfer in advance. Reservations can be made by phone, email or in person with the driver at the airport pick-up.

Detailed information is available on the official website islandtransfers.co.uk.

On foot

If the weather is nice, you can take a beautiful walking tour from the airport to anywhere on the island. In particular, the walk from the airport to Hugh Town is relaxing as it is largely downhill.

It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to walk slowly from the terminal to Hugh Town.

The road is largely on pavement and although parts of it are on a road with no pavements, traffic is very sparse and drivers are extremely considerate.
