Salzburg Airport has 2 terminals, but only one of them is open most of the year. Overall, the airport is small to medium-sized and easy to navigate.
The buildings are single-storey and you can walk through the whole thing in 4-5 minutes.
- Terminal 1 - the main building handles all scheduled flights
- Terminal 2 "Amadeus" - a small concourse directly connected to Terminal 1 (approx. 30 metres via a corridor) and serves only ski charter flights
Transfer between flights
Salzburg Airport is not a typical transfer airport and therefore does not have a transit zone that you can use for connecting flights.
If you combine your own transfer from two separate tickets at the airport, you will need to leave the transit area and go back through security.
Given the size of the airport, you can realistically make the transfer between flights in 20-30 minutes. If you also have to go through passport control, the procedure can take up to 60 minutes.
