Olbia Airport is the ideal starting point for road-trips around Sicily. However, there are also frequent bus links from the terminal to the city centre.
Car rental
If you want to explore Sardinia on your own, driving around and discovering deserted beaches or mountain villages, the best mode of transport is a rental car. Many car rental companies, both local and multinational, are based at Olbia airport. You can easily compare them all at the click of a button with this search engine:
Prices vary greatly depending on the season and especially how far in advance you book. If you book a car a month in advance for the summer season, you will pay around 450 eur per week.
On the other hand, off-season prices start as low as 60 eur per week.

Public bus Olbia
The stops of all bus lines are right in front of the terminal and can't be missed.
There is local public transport to the airport from the centre of Olbia, namely bus lines 2 and 10, each with an interval of about 30 minutes. The journey into town takes 15 minutes.
A ticket for 90 minutes (transfer) costs 1 eur purchased at the Info Point at the airport or at the newsagent in town. A 24-hour ticket (cannot be purchased from the driver) costs 1,50 eur. A 24-hour ticket (cannot be purchased from the driver) costs 2,80 eur. Public transport tickets can also be purchased on the ASPO app (available on Google Play / App Store).
Please note that these tickets are only valid on Olbia public transport buses, not on ARST regional buses.

Bus + train
The railway company Trenitalia operates the Olbia AirLink bus service from the airport directly to the station (approx. 10 minutes ride), which connects to all train services from Olbia to Golfo Aranci, Sassari, Oristano or Cagliari. You cannot buy a separate ticket for this bus, but only a ticket combined with the train.
The price of a ticket from the airport to anywhere is always 1 eur higher than a ticket from the station in Olbia.

Regional and long-distance buses around Sardinia also stop at the airport, click on the number/name of the line for the timetable:

Tickets are always bought from the driver, except for ARST, where the best way to buy a ticket is at the information desk in the arrivals hall or on the DropTicket app (available on Google Play / App Store).
Taxi
Only official fixed-price taxis are allowed at the airport.
- Boarding rate: 3,50 eur
- First 5 km: 2,60 eur per 1 km
- 5-45 km: 2,40 eur per 1 km
- Luggage: 1 eur
- Night surcharge 22:00-6:00: +20%
Due to the proximity to the city, it is possible to walk to the airport. The 3.5 km path goes all the way along the sidewalk and can be walked in about 40 minutes.
