Transportation from Molde Airport

Molde

How often do buses run to Molde Airport and how much does it cost to rent a car?

Rent a car

Molde Airport is a popular starting point for road-trips around the fjords of Møre og Romsdal, so a car is the most common and practically the only relevant form of transport.

Several international car rental companies such as Avis, Sixt, Alamo, Enterprise and Budget operate directly in the terminal. You can compare the prices of all rental companies clearly on booking.com.

Weekly rental prices vary greatly depending on the season, but also on the timeliness of the booking. Especially during summer travel, we recommend booking at least 3-4 months in advance.

The average price for renting a smaller car for a week is around 500 eur.

Car rental counters are located in the arrivals hall.

Public transport - bus

The airport is also served by city and long-distance buses operated by Fram. You can search for connections via frammr.no or entur.no.

The best way to find connections is to download the Fram mobile app, where you can conveniently buy tickets, in addition to a discount compared to buying from the driver:

Tip for hotels in the centre

Don't look for complicated accommodation when you arrive in the city and choose one of the hotels near the Molde trafikkterminal stop, where all the buses from the airport go.

The hotels listed below are about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Taxi

The taxi rank is on the left by the airport building.

Taxis are waiting here for every scheduled arrival, but due to the small number of cars in Molde, you may have to wait more than 20 minutes for an available car.

The price to the centre of Molde is 290 nok.

Mobile apps like Bolt or Uber do not work here. Regular taxis can be booked by calling the phone numbers of the two official companies operating in Molde:

  • Swift Taxi AS: +47 915 48 000
  • Lokal Taxi Molde Taxi: +47 712 52 811
