Internet and wi-fi

Wi-fi is free throughout the airport. Connect to the "_FreeWifi" hotspot.

If you use an EU country sim card, you can call and use data in the UK for the same prices as in your home country, even though the UK is no longer a member of the EU.

Luggage storage

Luggage storage is located in the departure areas of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, always in the public area. You pay for one day 10 gbp.

  • Terminal 1 - open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Terminal 2 - open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Terminal 3 - the branch is currently closed.

Shops and supermarkets

Grocery and convenience stores can be found in several locations:

  • Marks & Spencer - Terminal 2 (landside), open 24/7
  • WHSmith - Terminal 1 (landside), open 3:30-20:00; Terminal 1 (airside), open 4:00-last flight); Terminal 2 (airside), open 5:00-17:00; Terminal 3 (airside), open 3:30-last flight; Terminal 3 (landside), open 7:00-23:00

Boots Pharmacies can be found in all terminals after security checks. It always opens at 3:30 and closes according to the last departures.

Other shops selling fashion, travel goods, electronics or duty free are available, especially in the transit areas of terminals 1 and 2. Terminal 2 has no shops in the transit zone except for a pharmacy and a WHSmith mini-market.

Restaurants

Restaurants can be found in all terminals before and after security. However, there is significantly more choice in the transit area. Well-known fast-food restaurants and chains such as Caffé Nero, KFC, Starbucks, Pret A Manger and Burger King are also available.

Virtually all restaurants open at 3:30 or 4:00 and close after the last flight. For a full list of restaurants, visit the airport website.

Showers

There are currently no public showers at Manchester Airport.

Drinking water

After security you can fill your own bottle with free cold drinking water from several fountains located near the toilets.

ATMs and currency exchange facilities

The exchange offices and most of the ATMs at the airport are operated by Travelex with very unfavourable exchange rates. ATM withdrawals are usually charged around 5 gbp and they also offer unfavourable conversion rates for foreign accounts.

However, all transport from the airport can be paid for with a contactless credit card, so any withdrawals can be dealt with in the city centre.
