Internet and wi-fi

Unlimited free wi-fi is available throughout the airport. Connect to the "Airport FreeWifi Aena" network.

If you use a sim card from an EU country, you can call and use data in Spain at the same prices as in your home country.

Restaurants and cafés

All terminals are well-equipped with many restaurants, fast-food outlets and cafés. In addition to those listed below, other well-known brands such as 100 Montaditos, Burger King, Lavazza Coffee or Starbucks are also available.

  • Barril express airport: Spanish specialties - Terminal 4S, 1st floor, after security check
  • Dehesa Santa María: Spanish tapas - Terminal 4, Arrivals, public area
  • Eating Point: self-service restaurant (tapas, pasta, burgers) - Terminal 4, departures at J-gates, after security check
  • Mahoudrid: tapas, restaurant, sandwiches - Terminal 4, arrivals, public area
  • McDonald's: fast-food - Terminal 4, departures, public area

Shops

You'll enjoy shopping especially after security, where most of the shops are located. Madrid Airport offers a full range of shopping options, from luxury clothing boutiques to local food outlets.

There is no grocery store or supermarket at the airport. Sandwiches, salads, sweets or drinks can be quickly purchased at WHSmith convenience stores located throughout the airport. Unfortunately, most WHSmith branches in the public area close in the early evening.

Pharmacies are also available in all terminals, a list of which and opening times can be found on the website: aena.es/pharmacy.

Luggage storage

Baggage storage facilities are open 24 hours a day in the arrival halls of Terminals 1 and 4. All-day storage costs 10 eur, see official information.

ATMs and exchange offices

The exchange offices at the airport are operated by Global Exchange with very unfavourable rates.

You are better off withdrawing money from ATMs located throughout the terminal. Three banks operate ATMs at the airport:

  • CaixaBank - withdrawal fee around 4 eur
  • Euronet - withdrawal fee around 5 eur and a very unfavourable conversion rate for foreign currencies
  • Euro Automatic Cash (Grupo Santander) - withdrawal fee around 3 eur

Drinking water

Free cold drinking water fountains are available in the transit area of all terminals. They are usually located by the toilets.

Vending machines

Fast food is most easily solved by vending machines selling drinks, baguettes, sandwiches and sweets, which are located in abundance throughout the airport.

Vending machines accept cash and credit cards.

Baby corners and strollers

Across all terminals, keep your children entertained in the small play areas with swings or climbing frames.

All terminals also have free strollers available for hire after security checks.
