Transportation from Lampedusa Airport

Lampedusa

The airport is only 1 km away from the centre of the largest and actually the only real town on the island. The centre is therefore within a 20-minute slow walk.

However, there are also local car rentals and taxis available.

Car or motorbike rental

If you want to discover the small beaches outside Lampedusa town, we recommend renting a motorbike or car directly at the airport.

Only local small car rental companies operate here.

Prices for scooters for 1 week are around 120 eur and small cars around 150 eur. For information and booking options, check the car rental websites.

Taxi

Lampedusa is too small an island for conventional taxis to operate here. Transport is always booked in advance, most often directly through the accommodation.

Bus

There are no local bus routes directly to the terminal.

There are two bus lines in Lampedusa that provide vans and minibuses. The closest to the airport is the Linea Rossa which runs from the harbour through the bay of Cala Pisana to a transfer stop in the north of Lampedusa, where it is joined by the Linea Azzurra which runs to the west of the island.

The buses run once an hour Monday to Saturday and one ride costs 1 eur. Payment is by cash only at the driver.

The nearest bus stop from the airport is about 900 metres away.

For a map of the routes and timetable, see for example the unofficial but frequently updated tourist website of the island: visit.lampedusa.today.
