Kutaisi International Airport in a nutshell

The modern Kutaisi International Airport is currently Georgia's second largest airport and also provides a base for Wizz Air, which accounts for the vast majority of traffic.
The airport is located in the interior of western Georgia and is a convenient starting point for travel throughout the country. The centre of Kutaisi is 34 km away, the capital Tbilisi 248 km and seaside Batumi 124 km.
The popular mountain region of Mestia can be reached after a 214 km / approx 5.5 hour drive or in less than an hour by small regional airline Vanilla Sky.

I guess this is a stupid question - but I have a ticket to Kutaisi... I know there's a direct bus to Tbilisi. I have 4 nights stay. I'm hesitant to take a 4 hour bus ride to Tbilisi (I'm planning 3 nights) and then take the train back ( and one night in Kutaisi)... I've never been to Georgia before. Is it worth it to go to Tbilisi or better to plan the whole time in Kutaisi? I'm alone and don't plan to rent a car (probably...). So just advice from experienced Georgians...:)
That's what discussions are for, this is about airports. Otherwise, Tbilisi is nicer. 🙂
For me definitely to Tbilisi, we stayed for 4 nights, also without a car, we moved only by buses and taxis and managed to see Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Kutaisi...
