Kukës Airport is located about 3 km from the town of the same name in the mountainous region of north-eastern Albania near the border with Kosovo. It opened in 2021 and received its first flights in the spring of 2022.
Kukës is an ideal starting point for trips to Albania's Korab or Prokletije mountains, but is also great for visiting Kosovo, for example the famous historic town of Prizren is only 40 km away. The small, modern terminal gives you no chance to get lost, with barely 100 metres from the entrance to the plane.
Wizz Air, which accounts for virtually 100% of all flights, will stop flying to Kukës Airport from October 2023.
