Poland's second largest airport is located about 13 km from Krakow and is named after Pope John Paul II. Among locals, however, the airport is better known as Krakow-Balice, after the village near which it is located.

The airport is open 24 hours a day.

Nearby airports Katowice KTW offers alternative and often cheaper connections, especially via Wizz Air and Ryanair.
