The airport on the Thai island of Koh Samui is unique in many ways. It is one of the few airports in the world built and wholly owned by an airline, namely Bangkok Airways. Even so, they do not maintain a 100% monopoly at the airport, and in addition to these airlines, Scoot from Singapore or Tibet Airlines from Xi'an fly here.
Another interesting feature is the atypically designed terminal, which consists of open-air gazebos and is complemented by countless relaxation areas on the lawns, for example right next to the runway.
