Car rental

The only option for individual travelers is to rent a car.

There are two car rental companies operating on the island with similar prices and conditions.

Car rental agencies usually don't have counters at the airport, but will send you detailed instructions on how to pick up your car 12-24 hours before you arrive.

Both rental agencies have designated parking lots outside the terminal where cars are parked. Each car has a lockable box on the window with a numerical code inside which is a key.

Follow the instructions to open the box and return the car at the airport using the same procedure.

Prices for the cheapest cars start at 88 aud per day and it is always advisable to book the car at least 2 months before your trip.

Car rental companies have limited capacity and may sell out if you book late.

Taxis and public transport

There is no bus service on the island and there are no traditional taxis.
