Getting from Kaunas Airport

Kaunas

Vilnius Airport is connected by bus line 29 to the city centre and the train station. Ticket prices are from 0,70 eur if purchased via the mobile app, see details below.

For the first morning departures and from the last evening arrivals onwards, you can only take a taxi to the airport.

Buses

Both city and long-distance buses stop outside the terminal.

City buses to Kaunas

To the left of the exit from the terminal you will find the bus stop for line 29, which runs along the main street to the centre and the station.

You can buy a ticket for 1 eur from the driver (cash only) or for 0,70 eur the Žiogas mobile app (Google Play / App Store).

The fare is valid for 1 ride and all-day tickets are not available in Kaunas.

Long-distance lines to Vilnius and Klaipeda

From the airport you can get to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, or to the port city of Klaipeda without changing trains. Transportation is provided by Ollex.

  • Vilnius - 3 to 4 times a day, price 15 eur
  • Klaipeda - 4 to 5 times a day, price 22 eur

If you want to save a bit of money, it's worth taking the city bus 29 to Kaunas city centre and from there continue to Vilnius by train or to Klaipeda by Kautra bus.

Taxi

There are always plenty of official fixed price taxis waiting at the airport to Kaunas city centre for 25 eur. There is a 10% surcharge when paying by card.

The Bolt mobile app also operates in the city, running at similar prices at times of high demand (especially early morning and late evening). During the day, the price through Bolt can be around 20 eur.

Car rental

Several large international car rental companies have a branch in the terminal. A car is the best means of transport for exploring the Lithuanian countryside or a trip to the seaside.

Weekly rental prices vary between 105 eur and 150 eur depending on the season.
