Getting from Eindhoven Airport

The airport is served by public transport buses that run to the centre of Eindhoven and to the train station, with connections to trains throughout the Netherlands.

Train tickets are even valid for public transport buses from the airport to the train station.

Eindhoven public transport buses

Bus lines 400 and 401 run to the main station in the centre of Eindhoven. The outskirts of the city are also served by line 20.

  • 400 - an express line stopping only at the "BIC" and "WoensXL/ZH Catharina" stops on the way to the station.
    • Ticket price - 4,80 eur / 3,11 eur with OV-Chipkaart
    • Journey time - 26 minutes
    • Frequency - 12 to 20 minutes
  • 401 - stop line through the western part of Eindhoven
    • Ticket price - 4,80 eur / 2,74 eur with OV-Chipkaart
    • Journey time - 31 minutes
    • Frequency - 10 to 15 minutes

Line 20 also runs once an hour to the surrounding districts and towns of Veldhoven or Best. Fares cost 4,80 eur or 2,50 eur with OV-Chipkaart.

Tickets

Fares for 4,80 eur Pay simply by attaching your own credit card to the reader when boarding and alighting. To ensure the correct price is counted, be sure to attach your card on exit as well! The fare is a 60-minute transfer. If you transfer between buses within this time, you must again attach your card to the reader at both boarding and alighting, but no extra money will be charged.

Alternatively, you can purchase your ticket at the "AirExpressBus" counter in the arrivals hall or on the website hermes.nl/en/shop.

You will pay cheaper fares when travelling with the OV-Chipkaart. For 1 eur you can buy a single-use OV-Chipkaart together with a loaded ticket at a Dutch Railways ticket machine. You can then buy a plastic OV-Chipkaart at the station for 8,50 eur, which can be recharged again.

Trains

There are no trains to the airport, however, Dutch Railways works with Hermes public transport and therefore you can buy a single ticket from the airport to your final destination anywhere in the Netherlands.

Train ticket machines are located in the arrivals hall and are also valid for buses on lines 400 and 401. The combined fare is not discounted in any way and is simply the sum of the bus and train fare.

The rail connection from Eindhoven is very frequent. Prices are quoted in total from the airport and after taking into account the fee 1 eur for a single OV-Chipkaart

  • Amsterdam - 26,80 eur
  • Utrecht - 21,05 eur
  • Rotterdam - 25 eur

Direct buses to Amsterdam

The formerly very frequent connection from Eindhoven Airport without transfer to Amsterdam city centre has now shrunk to 2-3 connections per day.

The buses are operated by "Shuttlecoach" and tickets can also be bought via flixbus.com.

The journey time is just under 2 hours, which is similar to the journey time by public transport bus to the station + train to Amsterdam.

The ticket price is 25 eur.

Taxi, Uber

There are official taxis to the airport and you can also use the Uber mobile app. Prices are similar and you will pay around 35 eur to get to the centre of Eindhoven .
