There is a bus stop right outside the arrivals terminal, where the state-owned Egged bus company operates. All tickets cost 10,30 ils (to Eilat and to the border with Egypt) and are payable by Rav-Kav card only.
The card can be purchased for 5 ils at the vending machine at the airport, where you can top it up directly to the amount of your choice. The card can then also be used to get around the city on buses where the ticket costs 4,70 ils.
The fastest transport to Eilat is provided by lines 30 and 50, which make the journey in about 35 minutes.
- Line 30 goes directly to the central bus station with an interval of 30 minutes. The first connection from the city to the airport leaves at 5:30 am, the last from the airport to the city at 11:00 pm,
- Line 50 goes around the hotel districts and the promenade along the Red Sea. It also runs every half hour with the first service from the centre at 6:35 and the last from the airport at 19:30. Line 50 does not stop at the central bus station!
The complementary line to Eilat is number 31, which takes slightly longer - it reaches the main bus station in 45 minutes. Line 32 then goes to the Shakhmon district in the western suburbs of Eilat.
If you're heading directly from the airport to Taba, Egypt, you can take direct line 50, which runs from the airport through Eilat without changing trains to the Israeli-Egyptian border. The journey takes about an hour, with buses running every half hour from 6:00 am (first departure from the border) to 7:30 pm (last departure from the airport).
Please note that on Shabbat (i.e. from Friday to Saturday dusk) the buses run on a limited schedule. When travelling from the airport to the city centre:
- On Fridays, the last service from the airport is line 30 at 19:15 and line 50 at 16:45,
- On Saturday, the first connection from the airport of line 30 at 11:00 and line 50 at 11:15.
On the way from the centre to the airport:
- On Friday, the last connections from the central bus station line 50 at 16:30 and line 30 at 18:29,
- On Saturday, the first connection from the central bus station of line 50 at 8:00 and line 30 at 8:30.
Detailed timetables and stop locations can be found on the official website egged.co.il
The only other option is a taxi which costs to the centre of Eilat 95 ils. Taxis also run on Shabbat. You can also use the classic Uber app or the cheaper Gett.
