S-Bahn S11
The most convenient way to get to the city centre is by public rail. The S11 line runs directly in front of the terminal, the station is called "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal". There is therefore no need to use the automatic train from the terminal to the train station.
The entrance to the S-Bahn station S11 goes underground and is located about 50 metres in front of the airport building.
S11 trains run to Düsseldorf Central Station and also to Neuss. From there they continue south to Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach. However, the journey to Cologne is considerably quicker by regional train from a station 2 km from the terminal or by changing at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnof.

Regional trains
A more frequent service to more different destinations is offered by the regional trains stopping at the 2 km away long-distance station "Düsseldorf Flughafen", which is connected to the terminal by the automatic train "SkyTrain".
The SkyTrain runs once every 4-7 minutes from 3:45 to 0:45. It has two stops in the terminal directly on the departure level. The ride to the station takes about 7 minutes and is free.
