Transportation from Denver Airport

Denver

Denver Airport is located in the US state of Colorado, 20 miles from the city of Denver or 100 miles from the popular ski resort of Breckenridge.

Rent a car

Denver, and especially the immediate area, is one of the main entry points to the Rocky Mountains. Practically the only possible means of transport suitable for exploring the countryside is a car.

Denver has a wide range of car rental companies and prices for a weekly rental in both winter and summer season are around 530 usd.

The rental car companies are all located in buildings about 3 miles south of the airport area. A special free shuttle bus runs from the terminal to the car rental agencies with a frequency of 10 to 15 minutes. The buses run 24/7 and will take you to the rental car building in 10 minutes.

Taxi

Taxis are the most used transportation to Denver. The stop is outside the main terminal and you can use the Uber app to get to Dever in addition to the traditional yellow cabs.

It takes about 40 minutes by car to get to downtown Denver in the early morning or late evening. During the day, depending on congestion, travel time can increase to 70 minutes.

The average taxi fare to downtown Dallas is 45 usd.

A line train

RTD's A line train provides the fastest public transportation to downtown Denver. The terminus is located at Union Station in downtown.

You can purchase a ticket at the ticket machines at all stations (card and cash payments are accepted) or on the RTD MyRide mobile app.

There is no regular fare to the airport, but you must purchase a special ticket for 10,50 usdwhich is valid for the entire calendar day for all RTD train, tram and bus lines. The one-time, lower-priced $3 airport ticket is not valid.
