Corfu is a modern airport with a spacious terminal. However, especially during the holidays, the airport is severely undersized and characterised by a shortage of seats.
The airport is very popular with airplane enthusiasts. The runway is built on an artificial peninsula and is very close to the airport (the famous place is near the Vlacherna Monastery). In addition, there is quite a lot of development around the airport, which makes it possible to take some really unusual photos of landing planes.
Most flights to Corfu operate between May and October, and Ryanair operates the largest number of destinations here.
There are year-round scheduled flights only to Athens (and with connections further afield to Europe via aegeanair.com) and also to other Greek destinations via skyexpress.gr.
