Transportation from Chicago Rockford Airport

Rockford Airport has a large number of car rental companies.

You can also use the city bus to travel to the centre of nearby Rockford. There are no direct buses to Chicago from here.

Regular taxis usually wait outside the terminal for each scheduled arrival.

Taxis run by meter and the price is calculated by combining the distance traveled and the time of the trip.

Ride-sharing apps Uber and Lyft also operate at Rockford Airport.

The locations of these services are designated as Rideshare.

Public Transportation

The 7 line city bus stops right in front of the terminal.

This line goes to Downtown Rockford to the "Transfer Center" station where all city lines cross.

Tickets cost 1,50 usd and can be paid for with exact cash from the driver or via the Token Transit mobile app - Google Play / App Store.

Public transportation to Chicago

If you are continuing on to Chicago, at the "Transfer Center" station, transfer to the city bus line 11, which will take you to the Van Galder Intercity Bus Terminal in about 25 minutes.

Coach USA long-distance buses run once an hour from Van Galder to downtown Chicago (across from Union Station) with a stop at O'Hare ORD Airport.
