Getting from Bergen Airport

Bergen

From the airport you can quickly reach the city centre by the special "Flybussen" bus line. A tram line also runs directly from the terminal to the city centre cheaper and similarly, and only 10 minutes slower.

Buses also run from the airport to the surrounding villages or to the Flesland dock.

Flybussen

Flybussen buses run between the airport and the main bus station as well as the old town of Bryggen in the city centre and the Flesland dock.

To the centre of Bergen

FB50 and FB51 operate between the airport and Bergen city centre.

You can pay for your ticket by card at the bus driver or online at flybussen.no.

To Flesland dock

The nearest ferry port, Flesland, is reached by the FB55 line, which departs approximately once every 2 hours for regular ferries (skyss.no) along the coast and to nearby islands.

Tickets for 169 nok / 199 nok return can also be purchased on the flybussen.no website or from the driver.

The buses stop at several stops along the way, which you can find shown in the map below.

Tram (Bybanen)

A cheaper way to reach the centre is by local public transport.

From the airport, use tram line 1, which stops right outside the terminal. The tram is called "Bybanen" in Bergen.

You can buy your ticket with a card at the ticket machine at each stop or via the Skyss mobile app. To get from the city centre to the airport, you only need a ticket for 1 zone "A".

The machine will not issue any paper ticket or receipt. The ticket will be loaded on your debit or credit card when you buy it from the machine and in case of a check, you simply present your contactless card, it can also be on your mobile phone/watch.

You must have purchased your ticket before entering the tram.

Rent a car

If the city of Bergen isn't your only destination, but you'll also be exploring Norway's beautiful countryside and fjords, renting a car is by far the best option for travel.

Intercity transport to remote areas is very sporadic.

In high season, expect car rental prices for 7 days from 300 eur.

Bus 23 to Straume

Bus number 23 runs to Straume, west of Bergen, and is not suitable for travel to the city centre.

Tickets cost the same as for the tram, i.e. 47 nok for 90 minutes or 115 nok for 24 hours.

Taxi

Taxi is the fastest but also the most expensive means of transport. For a 20-minute ride from Flesland Airport to central Bergen you will pay on average 720 nok.

There is also a mobile app in Bergen, Uber, which runs at slightly lower prices than a taxi (from about 659 nok).
