How to buy tickets?

You have to buy cheaper fares on lines 10 and 12 and other connections around the city using a transport card or QR-code.

You can buy the cards from the machines at the following locations: transcard.kz. There are no machines at the airport, so you can only use this method of paying fares when travelling from the city centre.

You can also buy cheaper fares at 90 kzt via the CTS mobile app (Google Play / App Store), but it is only available in Kazakh and Russian.

The more expensive cash tickets for 180 kzt can be purchased from the driver, and for line 100, tickets for 250 kzt can only be purchased from the driver.

Taxi

There are always a large number of taxis waiting at the airport and the price on the way to the centre is around 4 500 kzt.

Astana also has a mobile app Yandex Taxi, through which you can go to the centre from about 2 600 kzt.

Car rental

There are several car rental companies operating in the terminal (such as Avis). If you want to go to the countryside, renting a car is definitely the best and most flexible option.

Prices for a week's rental start at around 450 eur.
