Airports in Sicily in a nutshell

Sicily

Sicily has a total of 6 airports, 4 of which are designated for international flights by transport aircraft. These airports are Palermo, Trapani and Catania. The Sicilian region does not have its own IATA code or ICAO code. If you search for airline tickets, you will need to search for them to individual airports.

Palermo Airport

Palermo PMO airport is located on the northern part of the island near the city of the same name. There is a new direct service from Prague operated by Wizz Air. For details on flights or transport from the airport, see the link under the airport name.

Trapani Airport

Trapani TPS airport is known mainly by low-cost travellers. For many years it was the only air contact with Sicily from Central and Eastern Europe. Both Wizz Air and especially Ryanair fly here from all parts of Europe, including Prague. For details on transport from the airport and flights, see the link in the name of the airport.

Catania Airport

Catani CTA airport is located in the east of the island, just south of the city of the same name. It is also cheap to get here with low-cost airline Wizz Air. Look for more information under the airport name.

Comiso Airport

Sicily's smallest international airport, Comiso CIY is located in the south of the island. It lacks connections to central Europe and is accessible by direct flights on domestic flights from Italy, such as Bergamo, Bologna, Pisa and Bari.
