Lauda Airlines (formerly Laudamotion) was founded on the foundations of the bankrupt Niki Airlines. It was founded in March 2018 by famous car racer Niki Lauda, for whom this is the third attempt to start a successful airline in his lifetime.

A year later in 2019, the airline's main competitor Ryanair took full control of the airline.

Today, while Lauda operates flights with its own Airbus A320 aircraft from its base at Vienna VIE airport, everything is under the control of Ryanair, where Lauda is fully integrated.

Baggage limits, check-in and service are therefore in line with what Ryanair offers.
