Air France baggage

Air France

All tickets always include two carry-on bags + a jacket/umbrella or a small plastic bag from the airport shops.

Checked baggage is always extra when purchasing the lowest economy class fares, even on long-haul routes.

Hand luggage

Each passenger always receives two pieces of hand luggage free of charge. Luggage must be of the following dimensions:

  • 55 x 35 x 25 cm.
  • 40 x 30 x 15 cm

You are entitled to this baggage allowance even if you purchase the cheapest Economy Light fare.

Business and First (La Premiere) class passengers can have 2x hand luggage (55x35x25 cm) + small luggage (40x30x15 cm).

Checked baggage

Checked baggage, which you check in at the counter and collect on arrival from the arrivals belt in the arrivals hall, is never included in the lowest Economy Light fare.

From Economy Standard and above, at least 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg is always included.

If you know you will be flying with checked baggage, it is always better to buy the more expensive Economy Standard fare straight away rather than buying the checked baggage back on top of the Economy Light fare.

The difference between the Light and Standard fares is usually 60 eur on long-haul routes and around 30 eur on European routes, which is usually the cost of buying additional checked baggage. However, there are other benefits to the Standard fare over the Light fare, such as the ability to change your ticket (for a fee).

Luggage for children and pushchairs

Air France carries strollers for small children free of charge. You can check in a folding stroller, car seat or travel cot for free.

All children over the age of 2 are entitled to the same baggage allowance as adults.

Children under 2 who do not have their own seat are entitled to carry this luggage in addition to the pushchair:

  • Carry-on - 55 x 35 x 25 cm
  • Checked up to 10 kg
