One of the most visited places in Las Cañadas del Teide National Park is the Roques de Garcia rock towers. Most visitors, however, only stop at the so-called Finger of God Roque Cinchado and continue on, which is a great pity as the crater of the old volcano is full of interesting rock formations worth seeing.
The cheapest accommodation in Tenerife
You can pick up a free route map at the tourist centre off the main road and set off on one of several tours through the rock formations. Apart from Roques de Garcia, here you can admire the famous majestic La Catedral very popular among climbers.
The circuit around the entire area of rock formations is about 4 km long and the route is more or less comfortable on flat ground.
How to get there
There is a free car park at the starting point of the hiking trails, which can be reached via the main TF-21 road. It takes 45 km to get here from Los Cristianos, while 67 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The 342 bus, which runs once a day from Costa Adeje to Pico del Teide (there in the morning, back in the afternoon), also stops right by the car park.
