San Teodoro

San Teodoro

San Teodoro, formerly a town of little importance, has become one of the main resorts in Sardinia since the turn of the millennium. It lies in a gently rolling green landscape surrounded by beautiful beaches that are among the "best" in Europe.

The town itself offers many restaurants, shops and excursion offers from local tourist agencies.

Beaches and swimming

The local beaches are characterised by fine, pure white sand, a gradual entry into the sea, sandy bottoms and crystal clear water. It is not for nothing that the whole area is nicknamed "European Thailand", thanks to its beautiful, exotic-looking beaches.

The main pride of San Teodoro is the over 3 km long beach of Spiaggia La Cinta, which is washed on one side by the shallow and calm waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and on the other by the waters of Lake Stagno di San Teodoro. On this beach you will find everything you need: sunbeds, umbrellas, pedal boats, water sports facilities and plenty of bars and snack bars.

About 5 km north of the town are some of Sardinia's most famous beaches , Cala Brandinchi and Lu Impostu.

On the other hand, south of the town the coastline is more rugged with a number of smaller beaches.

Accommodation in San Teodoro

The popularity of the resort is reflected in the higher accommodation prices. The cheapest apartments can be found in high season from 140 eur per night for 2, hotels near the sea from 170 eur upwards.

How to get there

San Teodoro is very accessible by car and bus. It lies close to the motorway connecting the north and south of Sardinia about 30 km from Olbia, 160 km from Alghero and 250 km from Cagliari. Parking at the beaches is usually charged from 5 to 7 eur per day.
