Wizz Air is launching a new subscription called All You Can Fly from 13 August 2024.

At first glance, the attractive offer of unlimited flying for a whole year after paying the subscription fee has some significant drawbacks.

Price and availability of All You Can Fly

The All You Can Fly subscription is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. However, you can buy your membership now at wizzair.com.

The pilot programme is only available to 10,000 subscribers.

All 10,000 seats have already been sold out and All You Can Fly is now no longer available for purchase.

All You Can Fly prices are as follows:

• 499 eur - Purchase by 15 August
• 599 eur - Purchase after August 15

In addition, you will pay a flat price for each flight booked except the first flight, which is included in the membership price itself 9,99 eur.

If you fly a total of 10 times within 12 months of purchasing your membership, one flight comes out to an average 59 eur. Of course, as the number of flights per year increases, the price per segment decreases.

You can book a maximum of 3 flights within 24 hours.

So from this perspective the offer looks very attractive, especially for travellers residing near an airport with a large number of Wizz Air flights.

On which routes and when is the membership valid?

All You Can Fly is available on all international routes in the Wizz Air network.

You can book tickets for any date of the year, subject to availability.

Terms and conditions and uncertainties

However, a closer look at the full terms and conditions, which you can review at wizzair.com/information-and-services/memberships/all-you-can-fly, soon reveals that membership may not be as convenient as it first appears.

Booking within 72 hours of departure

The first major condition is that you can only book a flight within a 3-day window before departure, i.e. you can only book for the next 3 days, which is explicitly stated in one of the terms and conditions on the Wizz Air website:

"After registration, the given credit card will be charged and after a successful payment you can start searching and booking for available flights and seats* for the next 3-days on a rolling basis,"

In addition, you can only book a one-way ticket, or a return flight, which must take place within 72 hours.

"With the registration to Wizz All You Can Fly You can book one-way flights that are available in the itinerary of the Website or App within the Eligible Period if the booking is made within calendar 3 days (72 hours) before departure. You can book a maximum of 3 one-way flights for 1 day (24 hour)."

Seat availability

And seat availability is the biggest mystery so far.

All You Can Fly tickets can only be booked on a "subject to availability and restrictions" basis, and there is as yet no indication of how many seats will be available for All You Can Fly members on specific flights or whether it will simply be possible to book any available seat.

Cancellations and changes

Tickets purchased through All You Can Fly cannot be modified in any way.

If you miss 3 flights already purchased (no-show), Wizz Air may cancel your membership.

Baggage and services

All All You Can Fly tickets only include a small hand luggage of 40 x 30 x 20 cm.

Larger hand luggage, checked baggage and all other services can be purchased as standard at the time of booking.

Membership cannot be cancelled

The terms and conditions speak of cancellation within 14 days of membership purchase, but flights can only be booked from 25 September.

It can be assumed that the 10,000 available seats of the membership will be sold out in the next few days, so effectively you will probably not be able to cancel the contract even if you are unhappy with the availability of seats for members.

Automatic membership renewal

Don't forget that membership will automatically renew after 12 months, at which point 599 eur will be charged to the card you entered when you first purchased.

If you do not wish to continue with the All You Can Fly program, you must actively cancel.

Is membership worth it?

If you're really flexible and plan on scheduling at least 10-15 flights during the year at the last minute, membership may be worthwhile.

The downside seems to be the ability to book only one-way tickets. So if your trip will take more than 3 days, it will be an uncertain return due to the requirement of booking your ticket within 72 hours of departure.

The question, however, is what the realistic seat availability will be for All You Can Fly members.

In our editorial office, we are not yet considering purchasing a membership precisely because of the not-so-obvious availability conditions, the inability to effectively cancel the membership, and the strict 72-hour window in which tickets can be booked.
