The third largest airport in Bulgaria is located 9 kilometres from the centre of Varna and is the nearest airport to the popular resorts of Albena, Golden Sands, Obzor and Balchik.
The airport has significant seasonal traffic. While from October to May it has only a few scheduled flights to Sofia, Istanbul, London or Vienna, for example, in the summer season many charter flights fly to Varna for tour operators from all over Europe.
