The airport is not served by public transport.
However, car rental services are available, as well as taxis.
Transportation with travel agency
Most of the travellers to Djerba will arrive with a travel agent. So just look for your delegate in the arrivals hall, who will arrange a transfer directly to your hotel without any added charges.
Travel agency delegates are always waiting in the arrivals hall and are marked with a sign with your travel company's logo.
Car rental
If you've scored a cheap flight to Djerba, typically from France or Germany, and the airport will be your starting point for exploring Tunisia's countryside and desert, renting a car is the ideal option.
There are several international car rental companies based right in the terminal, including Budget, Europcar and Avis.
Prices for a week's car hire in high season start at 235 eur for a small car.
Taxi
There are always plenty of official yellow taxis outside the terminal and in the cities.
Mobile apps like Bolt or Uber don't work in this part of Tunisia.
They don't run on a meter and it always depends on what price you manage to negotiate. Taxi prices should not exceed the following amounts:
- Houmt Souk - 30 tnd
- Midoun - 70 tnd
Public transport
There are no trains or buses to or near Djerba Airport.
