Paliouri beach

Paliouri

Paliouri Beach, also known as Golden Beach, is located in the west of the Kassandra peninsula and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Chalkidiki region.

It is located outside the town with nice green surroundings and yet it is very accessible by road and bus.

When staying on the outskirts of Kassandra, a visit to Paliouri beach should not be missed. Other names this beach is known by are Xenia or Chrousso.

Swimming and beach facilities

Paliouri impresses especially with its crystal clear water, which is shallow for several hundred metres and therefore always beautifully warm. However, the depth is such that it does not hinder swimming, while it is ideal for small children, ball games or snorkelling at the rocky edges of the bay.

The sea level here is always calm and the overall environment of the beach ranks among the nicest on the Kassandra promontory.

The surface of the beach is covered with fine golden sand.

On the northern edge of the beach you will find sunbed and umbrella rentals (approx. 15 eur per set per day), the southern part of the beach is less organized and suitable for setting up your own equipment.

Around the beach you'll find around 6 bars and smaller restaurants, which are alive with discos late into the night at weekends, while quiet during the week.

Beachfront accommodation

Right on the beach you'll find Paliouri Camping, which is more akin to glamping. You can stay in a tent with a classic double bed, but there are only shared toilets and showers.

There are many more hotels, apartments and studios in Pefkochori, 4 km away.

How to get to Paliouri Beach?

There is a free and ample parking lot right next to the beach, and it is virtually impossible to get lost on the way here. Just continue on past the town of Pefkochori and you can follow the main road almost directly to the beach.

There is also a bus stop on the main road in the southern part of the beach, where buses pass by about 10 times a day on the route Paliouri - Pefkochori - Chanioti - Polychrono - Kalliteha - Thessaloniki. You can find timetables and buy tickets online at ktel-chalkidikis.gr.
