Directly below the airport, about 5 minutes walk along a concrete road, you can swim on the beach protected from the waves by a rocky breakwater.
Swimming at Cove Bay is ideal, for example, before leaving Saba if you arrive at the airport too far in advance.
About halfway between the airport and the beach, you can turn off the road onto a marked hiking trail that takes you under the end of the runway.
Here you can admire the natural tide pools that alternately fill and empty with seawater in the jagged coastline.
