Northern Norway's largest airport is located 5 km west of Tromsø, about 320 km above the Arctic Circle.

It is a regionally important hub that connects Norway's largest cities in the south with all the small airports in the north. It handles over two million passengers a year and is home to one of the bases of the major domestic airline Wideroe.
