Madeira Airport uses just one small terminal, which is clear but can be crowded at busy times. We recommend being at the airport at least 2 hours before departure.
Check-in and departure counters are on the 1st floor, arrivals are on the ground floor of the terminal.
The airport is open 24 hours.
One security checkpoint common to all flights leads to the transit area. Passport control, from which gates for departures to non-Schengen countries are located, is located within the transit zone.
