Dubai World Central International Airport in a nutshell

Dubai

Al Maktoum Airport, better known by its alternative name Dubai World Central, is located in the south of Dubai on a huge area and is expected to be the largest airport in the world in the future.

The airport began operations in 2010 and serves mainly cargo traffic. Only a handful of airlines still operate passenger flights to DWC, and Dubai DXB, 55km away, remains the main gateway to the UAE.

Currently, Al Maktoum is mainly served by airlines from Central Europe (such as Smartwings from Prague and Bratislava), Russia and a small number of airlines from North Africa and Central Asia.
