Berlin-Brandenburg Airport uses 3 terminals, which are divided by airline. Individual airlines check in at these terminals:

• Terminal 1: Aegean Airlines, Aer Lingus, Aeroflot, Air Baltic, Air Canada, Air France, Air Malta, Air Serbia, Alitalia, American Airlines, Austrian, Belavia, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Danish Air Transport, Delta, easyJet, Egyptair, El Al, Eurowings, Finnair, FlyEgypt, Iberia, Icelandair, Jet2.com, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, Luxair, MIAT, Norse, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines, SAS, Scoot, Swiss, TAP, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, United, UTAir, Vueling,
• Terminal 2: Norwegian, Ryanair, Wizz Air
• Terminal 5: closed until further notice, flights moved to T1 or T2

Terminals 1 and 2 are combined in one building and form the new Brandenburg Airport. The facilities are clear and the check-in process is fast.

Security checks in both terminals lead to a common transit area. Some gates allocated for non-Schengen flights are also behind passport control.

Terminal 5 is located on the north side of the airport and is the former main building of Schönefeld Airport. Terminal 5 is currently not in use.

Between T1/2 and T5 you can use the regular public transport lines, either S-Bahn or buses. The journey itself takes 8-9 minutes, but in the case of the S-Bahn add about 10 minutes to the time by walking from the station to Terminal 5. You can pay for your ticket at 1,70 eur, the transfer within the airport is not free.

Transfer between flights

Berlin Airport is not a major transfer hub, but some airlines may offer a transfer via Berlin.

The airport was originally built as a transfer hub and is therefore very convenient for transfer passengers.

The rules below apply to passengers who have a guaranteed transfer (both flights on one booking) or are travelling with hand luggage only.

• Schengen -> Schengen: you get off the plane straight into the transit area of the departure gates, you do not go through any further checks.
• Schengen -> Non-Schengen: you get off the plane directly into the transit area of the departure gates, you go through passport control.
• Non-Schengen -> Schengen: you have to go through passport control, leave the transit area and go through security back to the departure gates.
