John Hancock Center

John Hancock Center

An alternative viewpoint to the more famous Willis Tower is the John Hancock Center skyscraper. For many, it is more popular precisely because from the "360° Chicago" observatory on the 94th floor you can see the tallest building in Chicago - Willis Tower.

The 10 best hotels in Chicago

While the building was officially renamed "875 North Michigan Avenue" in 2018, which is its address, it is still known as the John Hancock Center among locals and tourists alike.

Height and architecture

At 344 metres, the John Hancock Center is now the 4th tallest skyscraper in Chicago and the 14th tallest in the US.

The skyscraper is particularly famous for its distinctive shape, where the building gradually narrows as its height increases.

The unique architecture of the building is accentuated by the unusual X-shaped bracing of the facade.

The "360 Chicago" observation deck

It offers breathtaking views not only of Downtown with Chicago's tallest building, the Willis Tower, but also of Lake Michigan.
