Krabi is a very popular tourist destination where people head for a week's holiday in Thailand, but also backpackers who travel across the whole of Southeast Asia. So the connections to Krabi are really busy and you can get here easily from many locations around the world and in Thailand.

By air without a travel agent

Whether you're heading to Krabi from abroad or from other Thai destinations, you can make your way by air to Krabi KBV Airport , which is located near Krabi Town.

The airport tends to be one of the smaller ones and is mainly served by Thai domestic flights. For scheduled flights, you can get here with FlyDubai from Dubai, AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur and Scoot from Singapore.

A very pleasant alternative to the long journey by land transport within Thailand is also cheap air travel. A flight ticket is often only a few crowns more expensive than a bus ticket and saves you long hours on the road. Several airlines operate multiple flights a day to both Bangkok airports - Don Mueang DMK and Suvarnabhumi BKK ( AirAsia and ThaiAirways fly most frequently).

Direct air links also exist with Chiang Mai and Koh Samui airports.

By air with a tour operator

If you want to save yourself the planning, you can travel to Krabi with one of the tour operators.

Direct charter flights to Krabi are operated, for example, by the Czech travel agency Cedok, which flies direct charter flights from Prague to Krabi once a week in high season and offers accommodation in many local hotels.

Other travel agencies head to Krabi from Sweden or Denmark, for example.

An 8 night trip with breakfast to a 4* resort near Krabi will set you back approximately 1 200 eur per person. Prices for tours to different hotels are usually similar.

If you manage to buy a cheap ticket to Thailand, it may well be that your holiday will cost you considerably less than with a travel agent.

By bus

If you're coming from other places on the Thai mainland, you can certainly take advantage of ground transportation. Most buses leave from Krabi Bus Station, which is located in the northern part of Krabi Town.

Here you can buy a ticket to a large number of destinations, mainly in the south of Thailand, but also to Bangkok. The most popular destinations include Phuket, Khao Lak or Surat Thani. You can usually choose between a bus and a minibus.

Long-distance tickets can be bought easily on the popular Thai website 12go.asia. You don't need to print your ticket, you just need to present your mobile phone receipt at the ticket counter before boarding the bus.

Most hotels and accommodation establishments also offer the option of arranging minibus tourist transport to various popular places. The minibus will usually pick you up at or near the hotel, so you won't have any extra worries, but usually the ticket is a bit more expensive.

By boat

As southern Thailand is full of different islands, boats are a very practical and popular means of transport. Outside of Krabi province, it makes the most sense to take a boat to Phuket province and the island of Koh Lipe. If you are travelling from the mainland, there is a direct boat service to Phuket and also to Koh Yao Noi from Hat Noppharat Thara pier north of Ao Nang.

The islands of Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi in Krabi province also have direct fast boat connections in high season to Koh Lipe in southern Thailand, and sometimes boats are also operated to the islands in Trang province (Koh Muk, Koh Kradan, Koh Ngai) and the Tarutao archipelago.
