Amnam Park

Amnam Park

Amnam Park is located on the peninsula of the same name, south of downtown Busan, and is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in the city. A dense forest of pine trees mingles with deciduous trees, and the rugged steep coastline with its many cliffs creates stunning scenery.

The trip to Amnam Park by cable car is an experience in itself.

Hiking and cliff views

The entire forested part of the Amnam Peninsula is criss-crossed with clearly marked hiking trails, including large maps at the crossroads. There are several circuits to choose from, ranging from 900 metres to 5 km.

The paths are well maintained and very comfortable for walking. Although there are significant elevation changes in places, these are mostly only short sections, so anyone can walk in Amnam Park.

One of the main attractions is the pedestrian suspension bridge (about 70 metres long) connecting the mainland with the small rocky island of Dongseom.

Busan Air Cruise cable car

A visit to Amnam Park is worth it just for the gondola ride alone on the Busan Air Cruise, which starts at Songdo Beach. The cable car takes about 15 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the cliffs, the open sea with boats docked and the skyscrapers of downtown Busan.

The cable car operates daily from 9:00-21:00, and until 22:00 in summer. The last ticket can be purchased 30 minutes before closing time.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • One way - 12 000 krw (16 000 krw at the booth with glass floor)
  • Return - 15 000 krw (20 000 krw at the booth with glass floor)

Enthusiasts can also avail a day ticket at 27 000 krw for unlimited rides (valid on weekdays only).

By bus to the cable car

From the city centre, you can take a bus to the cable car, and also directly to Amnam Park (no need to use the cable car if you don't want to).

Buses run from Jagalchi metro station (orange line 1). Get off at exit 2, cross the junction twice and at this stop get on bus lines 6, 26, 30, 71, 96 or 96-1. Get off after about 10 minutes at the Amnam-dong Community Service stop (see map).

If you want to continue on to/from Amnam Park by bus, there is also a bus stop at the second cable car station. However, in this case you will only use lines 30 and 71.
