Saba in a nutshell

Saba

The tiny island of Saba in the Caribbean Sea is easy to miss on the map. From one end to the other, it measures barely 3 km as the crow flies, making it the smallest of all the regions and territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Nevertheless, Saba does boast one first place within its home country.

It is on this island that you will find the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mount Scenery, which practically makes up the entire island.

However, it would be a great shame to overlook Saba in reality.

Saba is part of the so-called Caribbean Netherlands, along with the islands of Bonaire and St. Eustatius. Although it is an integral part of the European Netherlands, it enjoys a relatively large degree of autonomy. For example, it is not an integral part of the EU, but only an overseas territory.
