• Terminal 1 - not used since the 1970s
• Terminal 2 - domestic flights to mainland Tanzania, small older building
• Terminal 3 - international flights, modern spacious building built in 2022

It takes 2 minutes to walk between the terminals on foot.

Transfer between flights

While Zanzibar Airport is not a major transfer hub, transfers from international flights to domestic flights to the Tanzanian mainland are common.

In this case, you always have to go through immigration, collect your luggage, walk 100 metres to the domestic terminal and check in again.

We recommend that you set aside a minimum of 5 hours for your transfer due to possible delays and long queues at immigration control.
