Transfer at Venice Airport

Venice

Venice Marco Polo Airport operates only one terminal common to all departures and arrivals. The airport is well laid out, but cramped and often with large crowds.

However, check-in, security or passport control have sufficient capacity and long queues rarely form.

Behind security in particular, there is a severe shortage of seating, forcing passengers to take a seat in one of the restaurants.

The arrivals area is on the ground floor. Check-in desks are on the ground floor on the far right (for example, easyJet, US airlines, Emirates) and some desks are on the 1st floor.

Security checkpoints are located on the 1st floor. On the far left is a security checkpoint dedicated to direct flights to the USA only (no change), on the right is a security checkpoint common to all other flights.

The passport control dividing the terminal into Schengen and non-Schengen is located after the security checkpoint.

A map of the terminal can be downloaded from the airport's official website.

Transfer between flights

Although Venice Airport is not a very frequent transfer point, if you do transfer here, it is very simple.

If you have a guaranteed transfer bought on one ticket, or if you are transferring on your own but without checked baggage, you don't have to leave the transit area at all. Just follow the "Connecting Flights" signs.
