Bus to Santander

Alsa's S4 airport bus will take you to the bus station in the city centre.

You can buy your ticket from the driver with cash or card, or via alsa.com. You can also find the complete timetable on this website. Enter "Aeropuerto Santander" and "Santander" in the search boxes.

Car rental

The most convenient mode of transport if you want to discover all the natural beauty of Cantabria is renting a car. Several local and international rental companies are located in the arrivals hall. It is always best to book a car in advance for the lowest possible price.

Weekly rental prices range from around 220 eur when booking in advance.

Buses to other cities

Directly from the airport, Alsa also operates connections to other cities in Cantabria or the Basque Country.

Taxi

No mobile apps like Bolt or Uber operate in Santander.

There are always plenty of official airport taxis waiting outside the terminal and the meter is always running.

The price to Santander city centre will be around 30 eur.

Train

There is no rail service directly to the airport. The nearest train station, Maliaño, is 2.3 km from the terminal and the walk takes you through a nice quiet village (map on google.com/maps).

The C1 and C3 lines of the Santander suburban railway pass through Maliaño station.

You can buy a recharge card at the station's vending machine for 0,50 eur, which you can load with new tickets over and over again. The fare to Santander itself costs 1,65 eur.

The train runs for 16 minutes and the frequency is about twice an hour from 8:00 to about 23:00.
