There are various bus carriers running directly to the terminal. The most common way to get to the centre of Salerno (from 1,40 eur to 5 eur) is in about 60 minutes.

There is also a direct bus to the Amalfi Coast for 7,50 eur.

Public transport

Although there is a railway line near the terminal, there is no train station anywhere nearby. Public transport is provided by several bus lines of different carriers.

Buses to Salerno

The following lines will take you directly to the centre of Salerno.

The journey time to Salerno is approximately 60 minutes.

  • Line 8 - BusItalia, which provides public transport in and around Salerno
    • Price - 1,40 eur purchased at a newsagent (only in town) or on the Unico Campania mobile app (Google Play / App Store) or 2 eur from the driver
    • Runs 6 times a day only from Monday to Friday (no weekends)
    • Ends at the main bus station Salerno Vinciprova near the train station
    • Timetables: fsbusitalia.it
  • Salerno AirLink - carrier BusItalia
    • Price - 5 eur, can be bought on the Unico Campania mobile app (Google Play / App Store) or with your own contactless card inside the bus (just attach it to the validator)
    • The timetable follows all scheduled arrivals and departures: fsbusitalia.it/link-to-salerno-airport
    • Ends directly in front of Salerno main train station
  • CIAV - Collegamenti Navetta
    • Price - 5 eur, can be bought from the driver
    • One only once a day (Monday to Friday only)
    • Timetable: consorziociav.it
    • Ends at Piazza Vittorio Veneto at the south entrance of the main train station

Bus to the Amalfi Coast

Most travellers head straight to the Amalfi Coast from the airport.

Without a transfer

Direct service is provided by SITA Sud once a day. Each day there are different times according to the current flight schedule.

The timetable can be found on the website sitasudtrasporti.it/orari. Look for the departure or arrival point as "Aeroporto di Salerno". The line stops in the following cities:

  • Vietri - 35 minutes
  • Cetara - 45 minutes
  • Maiori - 70 minutes
  • Minori - 75 minutes
  • Amalfi - 90 minutes

The ticket is uniform for all destinations and amounts to 7,50 eur. Fares can only be purchased from the driver by card or cash.

With a change in Salerno

A more frequent connection runs with a change at the main train station of Salerno.

From Salerno to the Amalfi Coast, line 5120 of the carrier Sita Sud runs once an hour. In Amalfi you can change to line 5070 towards Positano and Sorrento.

Bus to Battipaglia

Direct buses also run to the nearest larger town, Battipaglia. The journey time is 25 minutes.

In Battipaglia you can change trains to Agropoli, Scalea, Lamezia Terme, Tropea, Reggio Calabria and more.

Bus direction Paestum, Agropoli, Ogliastro

A direct service runs from Salerno airport to the important archaeological site of Paestum and to the resorts of Agropoli, San Marco and Acciaroli.

The service is operated once a day at different times by CIAV.

Car rental

There are no car rental companies operating directly at the airport yet, but this is likely to change soon with the development of airline services.
