Overnight in the terminal - opening hours
Portland Airport is open 24/7 and overnight stays in the terminals are no problem. The transit area in particular is very comfortable for overnight stays, with plenty of comfortable chairs and carpeted floors.
If you are connecting from domestic flights at the airport, then you can stay in the transit area 24/7. However, if you're coming from abroad, you'll have to go through immigration and you won't be able to get into the transit area overnight.
The security checkpoint is open from 04:00 to 22:00.
