Philadelphia Airport's public area is open 24/7 and overnighting inside the terminal is no problem.
You'll find comfortable, backless seats, especially in the arrivals hall of Terminal A, but there are relatively few seats.
Hotels near the terminal
There is one hotel directly connected to the terminal via an internal corridor. Access to it is only from the public area (landside).
Hotels in the vicinity
Many of the hotels around the airport (approx. 5 minutes by car) have significantly lower prices than the hotels near the terminal. Looking at the map, it does appear that you can walk to the hotels, but there are no sidewalks across the highway.
