Transportation from Nuremberg Airport

Nuremberg Airport is the quickest to reach by metro, but you can also take public buses to the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Metro to the city centre and station

The U2 metro line runs directly to the terminal from the city centre and the Hauptbahnhof. The metro hours are from 4:40 to 0:40. Please note that on the way to the airport, every second connection ends at Ziegelstein station.

A ticket purchased online at shop.vgn.de or on the VGN mobile app (available on Google Play / App Store) costs 3 eur.

You can buy a paper ticket for 3,40 eur from a machine in the underground station, where you can pay with cash and card.

A single ticket is valid for 90 minutes, during which you can also change to trams or buses. There is also an all-day (calendar day only, not 24 hours) ticket for 9 eur, valid for both days (Saturday + Sunday) at the weekend.

Buses to the surrounding area

Alternatively, take bus number 30 to Nordostbahnhof or Erlangen and number 33 to Fürth. Both services have an interval of 20-30 minutes.

All lines run from 4:30 to 0:00 and have a single fare 3 eur if purchased online or via the app (see above), or 3,40 eur if purchased on site for a single journey and 9 eur for a day ticket.

Night transport

On the night before a non-working day, you can use bus service N12 from the main station. The interval is 60 minutes for a detailed timetable, click here.

The bus does not run during the normal working week, but only on Friday and Saturday nights, or before a public holiday.

Taxi

Taxis in Nuremberg run strictly by meter and a trip to the main station or the historic centre will cost around 21 eur.

Uber, Bolt or other similar apps do not yet operate in Nuremberg.
