The airport, which has only been serving the public since 2019, replaced the old Murcia-San Javier Airport, code-named "MJV". The new airport is known as "Region de Murcia Aeropuerto" or also "Murcia-Corvera". You will also see the name "Corvera" on the airport boards.
The only small and clear terminal is located halfway between the cities of Murcia (27 km) and Cartagena (31 km).
